These days plenty of coming and going hypes call terms like „longevity“, „self-care“, „wellbeing“ , „resilience“ etc. for themselves. But these are no new approaches, just taken out of context and sold as sth. new. The Vedas (= the most relevant ancient Indian scriptures about healing, philosophy and paths to enlightment) already teach these concepts in a much greater context and within a comprehensive system. With the significant difference, that Ayurveda and Yoga are never applied as an one-size-fits-all solution, but always as a holistic concept with customized solutions for each individual person.

Our commitment is to guide you gently step by step towards realignment with your true nature, where you find equilibrium, a peaceful mind drawn away from limiting thoughts and emotions, where you reactivate your innate healing power and eliminate the root cause of all your discomforts or diseases.

external basti oil therapy

"The preparatory Abhyanga massage on my back was wonderfully relaxing.

Yvonne gently allowed warm medicinal oil to flow into and take effect in two bastis along the lower spine. During the therapy, a deep, very soothing and relaxing sensation spread along both sides of the spine. After seven sessions, my complex back problems — consisting of sciatica, spondylolisthesis and sacroiliac pain — were finally greatly relieved and calmed (after many other conventional methods had failed)."

ayurveda

Ayurveda is the oldest medicinal system  — a powerful holistic approach of natural healing and longevity, that restores the individual to their natural state of balance and harmony, which is true health. It is a holistic science based on nature’s cycles and principles with the concept of prevention, recovery and longevity.

Āyurveda आयुर्वेद  comes from the sanskrit words Ayuh (life) and Veda (knowledge or science) and literally means the “science of life”. As part of the Vedas, it’s wisdom dates back more than 5,000 years, originated in India.

This ancient science has been used for thousands of years for all sorts of ailments and disorders. Each person is approached as a unique individual who holds the keys to their own self-healing: Ayurveda is a medical system, that focuses on the individual’s unique physical, mental and spiritual constitution, including the entire universe and nature:

  • Prakruti: One’s natural constitution from the moment of conception, where body mind and spirit are in a state of Sattva (harmony, balance, clarity, consciousness).

  • Vikruti: One’s current state of disbalance.

Ayurveda guides you how to live in harmony with nature and it’s rhythms & cycles. When you live in alignment with nature, you realign with your own unique human nature, means you move Vikruti towards Prakruti. This is the state of true health and wellbeing. You have the memory of perfect health at a cellular level. But it became common to accept disbalance, ailments and disorders as something „normal“, as part of life. Ayurveda reminds your body and mind what it is to be truly healthy.

Ayurveda does not focus on disease or pathology. Rather, it maintains that all life must be supported by energy in balance. When one is in a state of balance, then true health reflects in the harmonious function of the whole individual, where body, mind and spirit work together. No system can work in isolation. Therefore, the goal is not to treat or suppress symptoms, but to restore balance by eliminating the root cause of imbalance. When the root cause of imbalance is removed, symptoms disappear and there is a sense of wellbeing.

Within nature, there are five elements (earth, water, fire, air & space), that compose everything in the universe, including the human body and mind.

In order to live in harmony with nature and to restore balance, Ayurveda guides you to tune in and become aware of your own unique constellation of the five elements: Earth, water, fire, air & space.

In Ayurveda there are three elemental types, known as Doshas (that which goes out of balance).

  • Vata (air + space): cold, dry and light - creative and changeable.

  • Pitta (fire + water): hot, light and sharp - fiery, competitive and driven.

  • Kapha (earth + water): cold, moist and heavy - retaining water, easy going and hard to motivate.

The doshas fuel Agni (and vice versa). Agni is our digestive fire — Our capacity to digest not only food, but also life, meaning all mental intake, thoughts and emotions.

Ayurveda helps to strengthen Agni, balance the Doshas and to bring your body and mind back to its true, natural state of health through profound holistic practices and changes:

  • Consultations (anamnese & counseling)

  • Dietary principles

  • Lifestyle recommendations

  • Herbal remedies

  • Body treatments

  • Yoga (Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, Mantra, Mudra, Bandha)

  • Other Vedic practices like Jyotish (Vedic astrology), Vastu (Vedic science of architecture and living) etc.

Even small changes will already have a big impact. You will be guided step by step to make holistic shifts for your body, mind and spirit in alignment with nature, you will learn how to balance & heal yourself. For a life in peace and wellbeing, with no suffering, but pure joy from within.

tantra yoga tradition & lineage

Yoga, Ayurveda and Tantra work together hand in hand — these are sister sciences.

Thousands of years ago a systematic spiritual science was „received“ by the seers and sages to awaken humanity to its highest potential. Tantra means in Sanskrit „to weave“. Tantra is a philosophy, a system of methodology and the mastery of energy - all weaving together with (modern) life. The goal of traditional Tantric Yoga is to master your mind and energy, truly evolve your life and achieve life’s ultimate purpose – Self-realization.

The traditional Tantric Hatha Yoga taught at Atelier Sattva is based in the unbroken lineage of the Himalayan masters & sages called Sri Vidya (dualism). Taught and received in an unbroken passage of knowledge from teacher to student (Guru Parampara) since over 5000 years. Yvonne got formally initiated into Sri Vidya in 2000 and is embodying the practice through daily Sadhana (discipline, practice), studies and Ashram visits. Therefore Atelier Sattva’s aim is to share traditional, lineage-based practices, treatments and remedies, where the wisdom based in universal and nature’s principles is pure, timeless and timeproven since thousands of years.

A consistent practice first creates awareness, the calms and masters the busy mind in order to return to clarity, to see and dissolve the unseen, the distracting thoughts and habits which lie in our subconsciousness. Eventually the ultimate goal of Tantric Yoga is to awaken and stabilize different Shaktis, esp. Kundalini Shakti, in order to experience the realization of the Self as an eternal spirit.

Traditional Tantric Hatah Yoga is leading to

  • clearing chakras

  • self-empowerment

  • self-healing

  • access and stabilize Kundalini Shakti

  • spiritual development

  • Self-realization

Yvonne has also practiced and studied other branches of Tantra in Nepal and Bali. In 2019 Yvonne studied and got formally initiated into Pranala, the ancient Balinese energy healing in the lineage of Balinese shaman Cokorda Rai. She studied with Yogini Linda Ishani, her teacher in direct lineage of Cokorda Rai. Pranala is a form of Tantra and nowadays became a very rarely shared practice.

Against popular myths and hyped definitions in the western world, the authentic practice of Tantra, that is open to a wide public, has nothing to do with sexual practices.
